Pope Benedict XVI has declared a "Year for Priests" beginning with the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 19, 2009. The year will conclude in Rome with an international gathering of priests with the Holy Father on June 19, 2010. With the announcement, the Pope has declared St. John Vianney the Universal Patron of Priests on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the death of the Curé d'Ars. To commemorate this year, St. Veronica's will be offering the following:

Miraculous Medal Novena

Each Monday evening for the duration of the year, beginning at 8:00PM in the church, the Miraculous Medal Novena will be offered for our priests and for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Adopt "St. John Vianney" for a Week

A pilgrim statue of St. John Vianney is available for "adoption" for one week increments. Included with the statue will be the DVD "Fishers of Men" as well as a biographical sketch of St. John Vianney and suggested prayers for priests, vocations and families. The statue will be available for adoption in one-week increments beginning on Sunday June 28 for the entire Year of the Priest. Adopting this statue is a great way for the entire family to gather together in prayer for our church! Upcoming Events

• Registration for Religious Education: will be held on the following dates: July 1-15.  Registation will be available from 9:30AMto 2:30PM on the above dates. All registrations will take place in the Religious Education Office in St. Veronica's School.
• Theology of the Body "Into the Heart" program for Married and Engaged Couples: Thursday July 2 for 9 consecutive Thursday evenings from 7-9 in the School Library. This nine-week program will feature a DVD teaching on Pope John Paul II's Theology of the Body by Christopher West. •  Festival of Praise Tuesday July 7 at 7:45PM in the church.  Mark your calendars now and plan to join us for Festival of Praise on Tuesday evening, July 7, 2009 at 7:45 PM in the church.  The Festival of Praise is an awesome opportunity to gather with fellow parishoners to Praise and Worship the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.  The evening begins with Praise and Worship, followed by a teaching, expostion of the Blessed Sacrament and concludes with Benediction.  Individual prayers for healing are available.   All are welcome and encouraged to come! 
• Weekend With Maria Vadia Friday July 10 from 7-9PM in the Gym and Saturday July 11 from 9-4 in the cafeteria.   Maria Vadia is coming back to St. Veronica's. She is a mighty warrior for the Lord, proclaiming the Word of God to the nations. Maria has served the Lord in 22 countries so far, and we are blessed to have her here again. Join us for praise and worship, teaching and prayer. All are invited. Bring a brown bag lunch. Coffee, tea and continental breakfast will be provided. A love offering will be taken.
